Living on a Few Acres
Backyard Conservation
Latah Soil and Water Conservation District
has added a blog (http://blog.latahsoil.org) to its Internet outreach efforts. The blog will feature the latest news
about local conservation efforts, community and economic development, and conservation program announcements relevant to landowners
and land users within Latah County.
The blog will focus on agriculture, forestry, livestock, fisheries, invasive species, land use planning, water resources,
wildlife, and endangered species. It will provide a portal to local, state, and federal government agencies and officials.
Blogs are increasingly used by conservation organizations to provide up-to-the minute news and multimedia content to Internet
users. They help people sift through the vast amount of information found on the Internet. Blog subscribers are
notified via their home page's "reader" when something has been posted on the blog.
